 At first I was afraid of taking the bus to come to Cookie Place to work. Then I started to work here and became used to being with the public. Different people get me nervous, but I have gotten better since I started working at Cookie Place.
This is a regular job; I have done cashiering, cookie making and baking. I have learned a lot but I still get anxious if I am working up front at the Café. I tried to get a job before, when I was out of work, but I got panicky and felt paranoid. I have made some friends at Cookie Place. If Cookie Place were no longer here, I’d look for another job but I would have to have my job coach with me all the time. It’s a very supportive place to be here at Cookie Place and I know that I am working with others with disabilities and its helps me. |
